A new phase of development of the ETIM data standard in the UK
The drive towards digitalisation and improved B2B product data across the UK’s construction sector is expanding. ETIM, the international data model for the standardisation and classification of technical product data, was introduced by to the UK’s electrotechnical sector in 2017 by the EDA.
Now, thanks to a new partnership between the EDA and the BMF, work has begun to expand the use of ETIM into new sectors. Each organisation will act as a Sector Lead:
- Electrotechnical – led by the EDA
- HVAC and Plumbing– led by the BMF
- Building Materials – led by the BMF
